Nepal and Bhutan held the fourth round of online trade talks on Monday to speed up bilateral trade cooperation between the two countries.
According to Nepal’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, the two countries agreed at the meeting to revise the list of preferential treatment commodities. The meeting also focused on related issues such as certificates of origin.
Bhutan urged Nepal to sign bilateral trade agreement. To date, Nepal has signed bilateral trade agreements with 17 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, India, Russia, South Korea, North Korea, Egypt, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Pakistan, Romania, Mongolia and Poland. Nepal has also signed a bilateral preferential treatment arrangement with India and enjoys preferential treatment from China, the United States and European countries.
